Thanksgiving nowadays

It is a holiday to give thanks to God, for the things before the season when harvest(收成).Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in United States.
They usually eat turkey(火雞), stuffing, cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes on Thanksgiving.

History of Thanksgiving

The first thanksgiving was celebrated in pilgrims and the indians in autumn of 1621. Although they have a three day celebration of harvest, the local indians joined it.

But this “first thanksgiving wasn’t a hoilday, it only a gathering. In 1863, Thanksgiving became a hoilday.

It is a holiday celebrated first in Canada and the United States.
In Grenada, there is a national holiday of Thanksgiving Day on 25 October.
