Thanksgiving nowadays

It is a holiday to give thanks to God, for the things before the season when harvest(收成).Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in United States.
They usually eat turkey(火雞), stuffing, cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes on Thanksgiving.

History of Thanksgiving

The first thanksgiving was celebrated in pilgrims and the indians in autumn of 1621. Although they have a three day celebration of harvest, the local indians joined it.

But this “first thanksgiving wasn’t a hoilday, it only a gathering. In 1863, Thanksgiving became a hoilday.

It is a holiday celebrated first in Canada and the United States.
In Grenada, there is a national holiday of Thanksgiving Day on 25 October.

My favourite festival

My favourite festival is Christmas. Many years ago, it's Jesus birth. Some people came to visited him.

I like this festival because it's near to my birthday(my birthday is in 9/12), and this festival has a long long hoilday! Ha!

I always watch fireworks with my parents that day.

The shopping and eating paradise-----Osaka

Osaka is the third bigger city in Japan. It has a lot of things to eat too!
In Osaka, there is a Museum called,” Tezuka Osamu Manga Museum”. Tezuka was a great people who draw comic well. The famas be created are Astro Boy, Black Jack, and Princess Knight.etc. Tezuka Osamu Manga Museum tells us Tezuka’s amazing life and his comic.

If you like eating, you must go to Osaka! There are many yummy food like Kushikatsu, Mixjuice, Takoyaki.etc. What is Kushikatsu? It means BBQ meat. The meat will be stringed together and people will use oil and fire to broil them. In the shops in Japan, people always eat them with drinking beer.

In Osaka, there are some shopping department stores called ”x-girl”,”Agnes b”,”Vivienne Westwood”.etc. You can buy many beautiful bags and backpack in there too!

My favourite drink

My favourite drink is Cream Soda. Everytime when I am thristy or after I play badminton, I will bring some money and buy this yummy drink.

It's yellow and it tastes as sweet as honey, but it has some air in it. It is a carbonated soft drink.

But in other city or country, it's very funny.There have either red, pink or blue. In our city, Hong Kong, someone will drink it with milk too! Ha! I never try it before.

Myself

Hello! My name is Maisy. Someone think I’m clumsy but I think I’m funny. In there, you will know more about me and my friend Phoebe.

I am study in UCCKE 1B. I am now 11 years old because I was born in December. I like to play badminton and read books. I like drawing too. But I only can draw some comics. When I see someone’s drawing is beautiful, I’ll think how to draw as good as him or her. I like to eat ice-cream and sushi.

Phoebe is my friend in school. She plays tennis once a week. We become good friends when it was English summer holiday lesson. We both like drawing. She thinks my drawing is cute! Ha! She is friendly and cheerful. She always smiles. I like her very much.

Mid-Autumn Festival--moon cakes

The Mid-Autumn Festival is on 15th of August in Lunar Year. There is a traditional story that tells why people eat moon cakes in this festival.

In 1279-1368, Chinese people were governed by people live in Mongolia. By the Mogo people’s govern, Chinese people likeness to have an abyss of suffering. So, they prepared to revolt on 15th of August in Lunar Year.

They gave some moon cakes that concealed a letter to their comrades. The letter said, "15th August night, kill tartar, welcome personal loyalty." They used this idea, let their china comrades know they would revolt, are they clever?

In the past, moon cakes were made of lotus paste, but now, moon cakes are not only made of lotus paste; they are also made of chocolate, ice-cream……etc.

For me, I only like moon cakes that are made of lotus paste, because it’s about our Chinese history.

Grammer

Today, I learnt know to use "where" to make sentense :
e.g. The flat (thing you want to talk) where people live (show clearly the thing)was very dark(describe it).
In there , you can see 2 sentenses:
a.People lived a flat.
b.It was very dark.
*So, we can use"where" to add information about a place.

Chess Game Rules

1. Always play for a win in your chess game.
2. Sit straight when you play.
3. Review your games and go over them.
4. When it is not your move, look for reasons for your opponent's move.
5. Do not focus on one sector of the board. Study the whole board.
6. Stop your games if you have lost for three games.

Ahnold adventure

In the north of the earth, there was a very very big place called Snow World. In the Snow World, there were five kingdoms: Sun Kingdom, Moon Kingdom, Sea Kingdom, Pool Kingdom, and Soil Kingdom.

One day, the prince of the Moon Kingdom, Ahnold received a letter, sent by his friend, Palphie. Palphie was also a prince. He was the prince of the Pool Kingdom.

The letter wrote:

Dear Ahnold,
I am Palphie, I will not go to the prince's party next day.

Yours,

Palphie

"No! No!" Ahnold said, "It's so strange. He loves party! He loves food! I must follow him and check what has got wrong!"

The next day, Ahnold brought some bows and arrows and chased after Palphie carefully. But

Palphie went to a big paradise, Eden. There was a lot of food! Ahnold saw Palphie ate some food and fell on the ground! Then a lady came. She wore a dress and a black flix coat. She said, "Ha Ha! Now I can take the revenge."

"Oh!" Ahnold thought, "I know now. Thirteen years ago, Pool Kingdom had a party to celebrate Palphie's birthday. They invited many royal people, but they didn't invite the thirteenth fairy, the smallest fairy of the thirteen! It was because the number thirteen was not a lucky word. The thirteenth fairy, wicky was angry. She made the queen sleep forever, and put a spell on Palphie, he would become lazy when he joined a strange party, so he would fall asleep forever ... That day has finally arrived! It is today!"

"Oh, no! Palphie is in danger!" Ahnold ran to rescue Palphie, but Wicky had already put Palphie into a black cloud and flew away. Then Wicky and Palphie disappeared! "No!" Ahnold said loudly, "I ... I must rescue Palphie!"

The next day, Ahnold brought a pair of arrows, which belong to his archery teacher, who knew Ahnold would have a problem. The way to use these magic arrows was prearranged. If someone shot the magic arrow and said a word; e.g. fire, the magic arrow would turn into a fire arrow. Then, Ahnold followed the black clouds.

A little girl saw it and said, "It goes into the black forest. Now the black forest is in danger, no one likes to go there. Prince Ahnold, if you go on there, you will be in danger!"

"No, I must rescue my friend!" So, Ahnold went to the forest and found the antidote. With the help of the antidote, the queen and Palphie woke up.

Although Wicky the fairy did not die. She lost her magic power and lived in the dark cloud forever.

We must not get angry so easily and take revenge in our anger. When you are angry with someone, may be Wicky's story may help you to reflect!
